If I get stuck on a task I want to do, I remind myself it’s supposed to make sense.
It usually does :)
The W7 snipping tool equivalent is a keyboard shortcut!
Full-screen capture is apple-shift-3
Custom-size capture is apple-shift-4
Which was so strange for me to do
that I sensed this is where gestures originated.
BTW — If you do not have an Apple Keyboard? It’s the Windows key!
Which THEN taught me
that my beloved and missing ctrl+v and ctrl+x [cut and paste]
were probably apple-v and apple- x on the OSX
… and the day was saved with new found productivity upon gumption to import my bookmarks and MOVE IN!
Of Note:
Google search revealed why X11 loaded with gimp.
I had installed the image editor
and was not 100% sure that X11 was not a rouge programme.
GIMP uses a separate windowing layer, the X11 windowing protocol, on Mac OS X which must be installed first. The XQuartz project provides this functionality.
